New Capability Extends Compuware's Application
Development Lifecycle Leadership
ORLANDO, Fla., May 5 /PRNewswire/ --
Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced at Orlando's STAR East International Conference its upcoming requirements management capability soon to be available through two of the company's product solution sets. This technology, called Reconcile, will be available through QACenter and NuMega DevPartner Studio. Reconcile -- which helps IT organizations deliver applications that meet business expectations -- is part of Compuware's overall strategy to offer IT organizations a complete solution across the entire application lifecycle from a single-vendor source.

Implementing a disciplined process of capturing, analyzing and communicating product and testing requirements and requirement changes can eliminate costly schedule slips and application failures. With Reconcile, organizations can
leverage several unique capabilities to control and communicate requirements changes across the lifecycle to help meet the ever-increasing time to market and quality demands of their end-users -- and maximize the opportunity for project success. Requirements are created and edited directly in Microsoft Word. Requirement attributes and interrelationships between business, functional, and testing requirements are easily traced within Reconcile's comprehensive reporting and web publishing functionality.
Reconcile also works with several other Compuware ASQ products as part of the company's single-vendor, integrated solution approach. Developers and managers can leverage associations between project tasks and defects in Compuware's TrackRecord to better understand and address project demands. The integration between QADirector and Reconcile helps ensure a quality process by validating tests against requirements, making sure original requirements were met.
"This is a powerful solution addition for organizations that need process support across the entire application lifecycle," said Doug Turner, Compuware's Vice President, Product Management. "Adding this intuitive requirements management planning tool further extends our dominant position as a leading vendor in the application development lifecycle space. Only Compuware, with the depth of its testing solution, provides complete lifecycle support for functional and performance testing."
