WA: Heath Ledger posthumously put to one side

HEATH LEDGER's name has been put to one side at a new arts centre in Perth that was
to be named in his honour.

Arts Minister JOHN DAY says the complex .. in Perth's main cultural precinct .. will
be renamed the State Theatre Centre.

The former Labor government previously announced it would honour the late actor by
proclaiming it the Heath Ledger Theatre.

The actor will instead be remembered in the main theatre within the centre .. still
to be known as the Heath Ledger Theatre.

The government says it's consulted with the LEDGER family about the decision.
