Aust dollar surges higher, bonds weaken on labour force data
SYDNEY, Feb 14 AAP - The Australian dollar sped past the $US0.51 mark at noon afterthe release of surprising labour force data showing a huge rise in employment numbers.
Bond prices fell sharply on the news, particularly for the three and ten futures.
At 1200 AEDT the Australian dollar was at $US0.5115/20 from 0.5094/99 at yesterday's close.
