QLD: Rona causes flooding, evacuations but little 4

Cairns police sergeant Barry Anderson said 600 people from the Lake Placid and Caravonica
areas self-evacuated early today to the Peace Lutheran College at Caravonica.

Welfare facilities were still being put into place at evacuation centes, with water from
the Barron River expected to peak at 10am.
